Too many times in small business we feel like we'd like to get more done, but we just don't have time.  "Sure I'd like to write a press release, but I don't have time."  Somewhat of a logical solution is to put your kids who are home for the summer to work!  Having them do those jobs that you keep putting off, or the tedious jobs you hate to do can help free up time to be creative!

Get ready to dive in!  Roy Williams has got to be one of my favorite marketing people.  Every Monday morning i eagerly check emails for his Monday Morning Memo, filled some some great marketing and/or advertising advise.  Years ago Roy compiled a bunch of Monday Morning Memo's into a book called "The Wizard of Ads."  A book I loved cause no chapter was longer than 3 pages.  It's great for reading a chapter right before you go to bed so you can dream of all the great things you'd like to do with you business.  Anyhow I digress...

This weeks 'memo' deals with the strengths and weaknesses of major media.  Great read!  Find out the strengths of the mediums your in.

Example: Out Of The Box Thinking

General, Marketing — Posted by tom @ 09:16

If you're like me then you always get a kick out of great marketing ideas and 'thinking outside the box'  In this article the company is Samsung.  Mike Stevens starts this article by talking about the booming cell phone industry, and a little about Moore's Law (computer technology doubles every 2 years).  There's an 'arms race' to have the next cell phone with every feature under the sun.  Samsung took a step back and produced the 'Jitterbug'.  A cell phone geared towards baby boomers.  A print ad for the phone reads "It doesn't play games, take pictures, or give you the weather."  The phone gets rid of all the confusing features that younger people find intuitive, as well as having a louder ring and bigger buttons.  Read the article, tip your hat to Samsung.
